Anastasia Chilakos – Paralegal
My Bachelor’s Degree from Rutgers University is in Labor studies, but I have particular interest in Disability Rights. This passion started when I was an undergrad, interning at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. After becoming disabled at age 22, I had my first experience with the Social Security Administration as a claimant and learned firsthand what the process is like. Following a long recovery, I started working in Social Security Disability claims advocacy with a focus in Initial and Reconsideration claims. My journey helping claimants obtain benefits has led me to work here with MaryJean and Virginia, two amazing women whose knowledge in this field continues to inspire me every day.
Outside of work, I do volunteer patient advocate work assisting other amputees through recovery. I also enjoy various movement arts including dance and circus. And at the end of the day, I love coming home to my partner, Eric, and our cats to watch a good show or movie.
